The theme of the 10 days of prayer and fasting is Send Your Rain, in line with the rhema word for KCI this year. It says in Deuteronomy 11:10-12;

The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

What we are about to see is like nothing we have seen before. What we are about to experience will be on a scale we have never experienced before. What is about to happen will come from God’s amazing grace not just our own efforts. God is leading us to conquer new ground and He is sending His rain to bring a new season of great fruitfulness.

Day 1, The Love of the Father

Today's reading is Deuteronomy 11:1-7.

Deuteronomy chapter 11 starts with the word LOVE and a calling into a loving a relationship with God. Everything in life changes when we experience the love of our Heavenly Father.

Deuteronomy 11 is about God’s amazing love for everyone of us. This is a passage about love victorious. This is a story about how God has made a way for us so that we can come out from ‘Egypt’ and come into the ‘promised land’. A story about a heavenly Father who saves, heals and delivers. A Father who sent his Son to die for us so that we may be raised to life through Christ.

Deuteronomy 11:3-4
“You saw the signs He performed in Egypt and everything He sent against Pharaoh the king and everyone in the country. You saw what He did to the Egyptian army, to its horses and its chariots, right when they were chasing you: He drowned them in the Red Sea! The Eternal destroyed them all.”

1 Corinthians 15:54-57
“‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ ‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’... But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Even in the wilderness times we can experience God’s great love: “[You] saw what he did for you in the wilderness until you arrived at this place.” He loves you enough to not leave you where you are at. His loves calls you forward. When you experience His love everything changes and you are propelled towards your destiny.

At the start of the 10 days of prayer and fasting ask the Lord for a fresh revelation of the power of His love. Wait on the Lord as He promises that you will see and experience first hand his majesty, mighty hand, outstretched arm and overwhelming power in your life.

Prayer

Thank you for the faithfulness of your love. Thank you that you are with me in every situation and season of life. Thank you that you lead me and make a way for me by the power of your great love. Lord, I love you and want to serve you with all of my heart and with all of my soul. I will hold fast to you.

  • Ask the Lord for a fresh revelation and experience of His love
  • That we minister to others out of the overflow of our own personal experience of God’s love
  • That people coming to the church through Sunday services, small groups or personal contact will experience a baptism of the love of our Heavenly Father

Declaration

The love of my Heavenly Father saves me, heals me and delivers me. Our church is marked and moved by the love of God.
