The theme of the 10 days of prayer and fasting is Send Your Rain, in line with the rhema word for KCI this year. It says in Deuteronomy 11:10-12;
What we are about to see is like nothing we have seen before. What we are about to experience will be on a scale we have never experienced before. What is about to happen will come from God’s amazing grace not just our own efforts. God is leading us to conquer new ground and He is sending His rain to bring a new season of great fruitfulness.
Our 10 days starts on Thursday 1 September and includes five key elements which are outlined below.
1. Daily Prayer
We are asking everyone to commit to praying for 1 hour each day. This time can be taken during the time you would ordinarily spend eating a meal!
2. Daily Prayer Meetings
There will be prayer meetings held on each of the 10 days. Each meeting is owned by a particular team but everyone is welcome to attend as many and whichever they are able to. All morning prayer meetings run from 6.30-7.30am at King's House Flat 10.
1st (Thursday): Morning Prayer with the office team
2nd (Friday): Morning Prayer with Pastor James and Paul Webb
& United Church Prayer
3rd (Saturday): Family prayer in the homes
4th (Sunday): Prayer and worship Sunday
5th (Monday): Morning Prayer with Lyndsey & Dorota
6th (Tuesday): Morning Prayer with Paul Harding & Greg
7th (Wednesday): Morning Prayer with Pastor Wesley & Tim
8th (Thursday): Morning Prayer with the office team
9th (Friday): Morning Prayer with Pastor Wilana & Clair
10th (Saturday): Teens, Twenties, Thirties Prayer
3. Fasting
We are asking everyone to fast in some way during the 10 days, whether it be something specific for the whole period or a meal per day.
4. Prayer in Small Groups
We would like small group meetings to focus on prayer during the 10 days. For newer groups this might be an introduction to prayer and fasting, and for others this may be extended times of prayer.
5. Sunday Celebration
On Sunday 11 September we will be gathering as a church for a powerful time of praise and worship.
