As part of our goal to teach children and young people in age-relevant ways, when children move into school years 1, 5, or 9 they also move into new programmes in the kids & youth ministry. Find out more about the kids & youth ministry at KCI here.

Sunday 24 September is Moving Up Sunday for the children of King's Church International.Find the details for each age group below.

If your child is moving into school year 1...

it will be their first Sunday in the 5-9s programme!

You are personally invited, and we would encourage you to come along and stay with them for their first week to help settle them in. There will be a parent seating area available throughout the programme.

During the morning we will be giving the children an overview of what usually happens in 5-9s, and introduce the children to their new small groups.

The 5-9s service will continue with the Little Big Heroes curriculum and we will be talking about Noah, which the children have been learning about recently in 3-5s. The programme will be a little bit different from what they will have been used to until now as the programme runs for the full duration of the adult service including a time of Praise and Worship.

If your child is moving into school year 5...

it will be their first Sunday in the 9-13s programme!

You are very welcome to come along and stay with them for their first week to help settle them in.

During the morning we will be giving the children an overview of what usually happens in 9-13s, and introduce the children to their new small groups. Anyone who missed the previous service will also receive their Moving Up Certificate before going to the 9-13s programme.

The 9-13s programme will continue with the Little Big Heroes content but is adapted for their ages. It will not be far from what they have been used to until now. The programme takes place at the Harte & Garter Hotel in the Lancaster Room, and runs for the full duration of the adult service including a time of Praise and Worship with 5-9s as before. You will continue to register them as before at the usual registration desk.

If your child is moving into school year 9...

it will be their final Sunday in the 9-13s programme!

All children who are moving into school year 9 will be presented with certificates, and we'll have a bit of a send-off for them before they move into the Elevate ministry. 

It would be great to see all of the children making this move together; we especially want to mark this as a significant stage in their lives. Someone from the Elevate team will be there on Sunday to introduce the new programme.

The Elevate service runs on Saturdays at the Alma Road Youth & Community Centre, Windsor from 7-9.30pm. The service on Saturday 30 September will be the first after Moving Up Sunday and should see a group of year 9 young people attend together.
