The Men's Breakfast event is a brilliant opportunity to enjoy a full English breakfast in central Windsor whilst hearing an inspiring talk and Q&A session.
Abel Matatini will be speaking at the next Men's Breakfast on Saturday 19 March. He has just become the second ever Fijian soldier in the British army to be promoted to officer. He serves in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and was the captain of the rugby team for several years. He has also served in tours of both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Like thousands of Fijian men he has fought in the British Army and holds Britain in high regard. The Guardian completed an in-depth study on Fijians in the British Army which you can read here.
'For the British Ministry of Defence, the Fijians, strong of heart and body, robust and compliant, are the perfect soldiers. The British Army rugby team has many Fijian players, and has become much better for it. In Fiji, becoming a British army soldier is the equivalent of being a professional footballer for young British males.
The Fiji flag has a union jack in the upper corner and the Queen's birthday is observed as a public holiday in respect to former colonial rule.'
The Men's breakfast is a regular event hosted by King's Church International. Previous speakers have included a British army general, football freestyling world record holder, an Olympic athlete, global aid worker and an ex-Premier league footballer.
