This is part three of our series Dream Bigger. In 2018 we are celebrating 75 years since King's Church International was founded and it is a time to dream bigger dreams for what God is going to do.
Part 3 of the series is New Commitment, and you can listen to the podcast or read the summary below.
Key Scripture
Recap
In this message, we heard that it's time to make a new commitment to Jesus Christ, His church and each other.
1. A new commitment to the Word of God
2. A new commitment to fellowship
3. A new commitment to the breaking of bread
4. A new commitment to prayer
Application
This week was a powerful time of reflection. What is your devotional life like? Does the Word of God guide the decisions you make? Do you memorise scripture?
No matter what your answers to those questions may be, we were encouraged to recommit to Jesus, to the word of God and to each other this week.
Here are some powerful passages for you to read and declare this week as we seek to reach new levels together.
New Commitment to Reading the Word
Psalm 119:105; Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Joshua 1:8; Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
New Commitment to Intercession
Acts 16:25-26; About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.
James 5:16-18; Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.
Declaration
I commit to pursuing God and reading His word every day.
Prayer
Thank you God that we are called to have fellowship with one another. I commit to studying your word every day. Help me and draw near to me as I seek You more every day.
