Before reading this briefing, please take a look through the message from Pastor Wes to start the year. You can find it here.

Through the 21 days we are encouraging disciples to fast and to read the word and pray everyday for a minimum of an hour a day. Each week of the 21 days will have a different theme to focus on.

Week 1 - Let your light shine personally - radical consecration
Week 2 - Let your light shine in the family - family dedication
Week 3 - Let your light shine in the church - church multiplication

Each day we have also selected scripture to read, reflect on, pray into and apply. To help you with your devotional time please read Sara Castellanos’ guide to The Word, Prayer & Fasting. You can find that here.

We will also be meeting throughout the three weeks for prayer, events and more. Find out how to get involved here.

Let’s be the light.

WEEK 2

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE IN THE FAMILY - FAMILY DEDICATION

Jesus Christ brings family restoration, renewal and wholeness. He brings the light and the darkness flees. Despite our sin and mistakes, through the blood shed by Jesus we are brought into the family of God and He shows us the pattern of how we should live as families.

As a church we must stand together to raise a generation of light that will shine brightly to everyone around. We must stand to build priesthood families that will serve the Lord together. We need to multiply powerful households of faith. We want to see God’s presence and glory manifest powerfully in the homes.

We need to believe for loving and devoted marriages in the church and commit together to see the next generation released fully in their purpose calling.

DAY 8 - TUE 10TH JAN

Numbers 6:22-27, “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Tell Aaron and his sons, “This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: ‘“‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace.’” ‘So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.’”

DAY 9 - WED 11TH JAN

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”

DAY 10 - THU 12TH JAN

This is why it is said: ‘Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’ Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”

WEEK 3

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE IN THE CHURCH - CHURCH MULTIPLICATION

Where there is faithfulness and formation there will be great fruitfulness. The light of God will bring unity and dispel all division. We must come to a new level of spiritual maturity and be open to discipleship. We must work together to take the light of God to everyone that we meet. And we must believe God for a multiplication of the light as we multiply small groups and services.

DAY 15 - TUE 17TH JAN

Matthew 5:14-16, “‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

DAY 21 - MON 23RD JAN

Philippians 2:12-16, “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labour in vain.”
