Over ten days in May, from Tuesday May 9 to Thursday May 18 we want to unite with a special prayer focus on London.
We will of course continue to pray for answers to prayer for individuals, families and in each area of the church in Slough/Windsor/Maidenhead and in Robertson.
But we feel particularly impressed to challenge you all to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in London and for the development of the ministry of KCI in the UK’s capital city.
God loves cities. Jesus wept over Jerusalem. The first disciples spread the gospel to the great cities of Rome, Corinth and Ephesus. In the Old Testament the Lord even had compassion of the violent and ancient city of Nineveh.
God sent his prophet Jonah there and asked him in Jonah 4:11: ‘should I not be concerned about that great city?’
God has also called us as leaders and as a church to have great compassion and a big vision for the multitudes of London. London is one of the greatest cities in the world. It is arguably the capital city of the world.
With a population now estimated at 9.6 million, London is the largest city in Europe. It receives 20 million visitors a year. It is a city where over 300 languages are spoken. London is also a place where key decisions are made and culture is shaped. London needs many more effective gospel churches.
Please pray specifically:
That KCI London will win and disciple many thousands of people
That the Lord will call committed disciples to come and serve in London (maybe you!)
That we will have a strong team of 12 men and 12 women established by summer who will then multiply teams
That the UK G12 conference in Westminster Chapel London on June 23-24 will be a packed and powerful time of envisioning and commissioning
That we will have well over 300 people attending the Franklin Graham gospel event on August 26/27 at the Excel Centre
That we will play our part in a new spiritual awakening in London amongst all groups and nationalities
Through prayer cities and nations can be shaken. Your prayers matter.
So please set time aside in this ten days to pray on your own, with your families and groups. If possible make a plan to fast as Daniel fasted for 10 days. Daniel chose not to eat the rich foods available but limited his diet to vegetables and water.
Please note also that there will be a special extended prayer meeting from 6-8 pm on Thursday 18 May.
Thanks for being prayer partners.
Every blessing,
Pastors Wes & Adriana Richards
