Every year Samaritan's Purse runs Operation Christmas Child, and at King's Church International we have been supporting this initiative for a few years. This is a fantastic opportunity for us as Christians to sow into the lives of children around the world who are less fortunate.
It’s a campaign that thousands of schools, churches and other organisations from across the UK get involved with each year and we're pleased to be a part of it.
Operation Christmas Child consists of packing a small shoebox full of gifts for one child. A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ name through the power of a simple gift.
This campaign is part of our Christmas series Someone Loves You. There are a number of initiatives we're supporting this Christmas, and there are opportunities to show people they're loved locally and globally. Find the details for all of them at our Christmas hub.
There are a few ways to give to Operation Christmas Child.
Option 1
The first and easiest way is to use their Online Box Builder. It's an amazing tool which enables you to build the box and choose what goes into it without having to worry about shopping, deadlines, and postage.
Option 2
The next way is to donate towards an already-packed box. This enables you to give towards the amazing work that goes into this initiative, and allow the Samaritan's Purse team to choose gifts that are most needed in different areas.
Option 3
If you would like to make a completely personalised shoe box and build it yourself, there is only one collection date on Sunday 3 December. You will be able to drop your box at the KCI Christmas Celebration and it will be taken to the Samaritan's Purse headquarters.
You can find resources about choosing what goes in your box and how to pack your box at the Samaritan's Purse website.
