Elevate Saturday hosted its first Alight UV Party on Saturday 31 October at Windsor Youth & Community Centre.
Over 60 young people attended the event to celebrate light and life as an alternative to the death and darkness usually associated with Halloween.
There was a dance party, complete with UV lighting and glow sticks where everyone covered themselves with UV Paint. There were also refreshments, a chill out room and a short word from Pastor Drikus Erasmus on family and what Elevate Saturdays are all about.
Youth Leader, Tom Penny, said: " The UV party was a great stand for God, a completely new experience from the traditional Halloween party. It showed newcomers that the church stands as a light in the dark...many regular members and new people declared this by sharing a Facebook post on Monday stating they are not ashamed of Jesus Christ!"
Megan Spzur , who attended the party said; "It was so much fun. Everybody, both new comers and the regular elevaters freely came together and epically danced the night away!”
Elevate Saturday is for anyone in school years 7-13, where young people come together build friendships, dance, laugh and learn about God's great promises for their lives.
