Pray

Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
— Ephesians 6:18

The foundations of every breakthrough are built in prayer; we need to pray! When we pray, God answers, as shown throughout the Bible. We're told to "ask in prayer", "seek", "ask in my name", and in return God promises "it will be yours", "you will find", "I will do it" (Mark 11:24, Matthew 7:7-8, John 14:13-14).

We're not just told to pray for our own wants and desires though; Jesus modelled this in the Garden of Gethsemane when He prayed; “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.Yet not as I will, but as you will.” (Matthew 26:39)

Prayer, then, is an opportunity to draw close to God in surrender, and when we do we should say, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

As a church we pray together every weekday morning and also start each term and new season with a period of Prayer & Fasting. At the start of the year we begin with 21 Days (starting 2 January), and then we have two sets of 10 days in Spring (starting 3 May) and Autumn (starting 6 September).
