The Good News Is For Everyone

On Sunday 13 March, King's Church International welcomed Reverend Sam Yeghnazar to the Sunday Service where he was interviewed by Pastor Wes Richards about his amazing ministry in Iran which has seen thousands come to Christ over the past few decades.

Mr Yeghnazar has been a minister for over 40 years and believes that everyone in Iran has the right to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. He founded Elam Ministries in 1990 with the mission of strengthening and expanding the church in the Iranian region and beyond.

A Changing Nation

Since the 1979 Iranian revolution, many people have become increasingly disillusioned with the political and economic landscape which has resulted in a deep spiritual hunger. Iranians today are seen as some of the most open people to the Gospel in the world. More have become Christians since the revolution than the previous 1,300 years put together.

Unprecedented Church Growth

In 1979, there were less than 500 known Christians in Iran. Today the most conservative estimate is that there are at least 360,000 believers in the nation. Church leaders believe that millions can be added to the church in the next few years, such is the spiritual hunger that exists and the disillusionment with the current regime. Today the fastest growing church in the world is in Iran.

Vision and Strategy for Impact

Elam's vision is that everyone in the Iranian region will have the opportunity to know Jesus Christ and follow Him as a disciple, and that Iranians would be instrumental in taking the Gospel to those around them. To achieve this vision they train leaders for fruitful, effective ministry in the region. They also equip the Iranian church with Bibles and resources for evangelism and discipleship, as well as sending the Gospel into the Iran region through trained evangelists, church planters and Christian media.
